Re: Peaky Blinders
If Tommy wasn't likeable on at least some level, then nobody would care whether he "won" or whatever you want to call it

and the show would no longer exist let alone be as popular as it is

I don't watch pesky blinders

Polly and her son are likeable

I love the programme but all though I'm a bit mutton these days I do find that they mumble quite a lot.

miike - I think Tony was likeable in The Sopranos too.

Mike too in Breaking Bad

Re: Peaky Blinders
I think PD makes a good point about the best series needing likeable characters. The Wire - Bubbs/Omar, The Sopranos - Pauly/Uncle Jr, Breaking Bad - Saul/Jesse

Re: Peaky Blinders
Oh for god's sake PD, it's a TV programme, do you level that critique against everything you watch ?

Can't watch Sci Fi in case the poor little Martian gets zapped ?

Are you a genuine tree hugger ?

Re: Peaky Blinders
Wasn't counting mate, but a couple, not to mention faces cut to ribbons.

Point is someone below said that the character Tommy is likeable in retort to my previous post, but he's not, he's vile, although he is slightly more humane than his scum brothers in fairness.

Re: Peaky Blinders
how many times have the peaky blinders actually blinded anyone with their peaks?

not very many at all

which is still more than they ever likely did in real life apparently

Does it have lots of men in suits and hats walking in slow motion while carrying big guns to modern music?

What !?!

I love Tommy Shelby, great heroic character that beats people up....but only bad people...bit like the old east end !

Its good, but its not a patch on Gomorrah.

Private Dancer 6:03 Tue Nov 14
Re: Peaky Blinders
I like it but it's not at the level of some of the American stuff, and has no likeable characters. A vile family, hopefully someone will cut their eyes out in this series.

Brilliant stuff and word has it that this series is the nuts !

Grump

Wait till Tom Hardy turns up as a Jewish bloke who sounds exactly like when he played Ronnie Kray

Re: Peaky Blinders
Only started it yesterday.

Not bad, but the accents are shite.

Sound more like scousers than brummies.

Re: Peaky Blinders
It's watchable but predictable and last series was the worst so far.
